WAFU CUP: We Are Focus On Playing At The Final- Manu Garba

Head coach of the Nigeria Golden Eaglets, Manu Garba says his team’s main focus is to get to the final of the 2024 WAFU B U-17 Championship in Accra, Ghana.

Recall that, the Golden Eaglets won the title two years ago which was also hosted by Ghana.

Garba speaking ahead of their opening game on Thursday, said his lads have settled down well in the Ghanaian capital and are focused on the task ahead.

In an interview with thenff.com, the coach said, “The players have been responding to training, the weather is similar to what we experienced in Abuja before our departure”.

“Our primary objective is to get one of the two tickets from here to the Africa U17 Cup of Nations; We will focus on the matches one at a time. For now, we are focused on our opening game against Burkina Faso on Thursday”.

The Eaglets will begin the defence of their title against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium on Thursday, (Tomorrow).

Their second game is against Niger Republic on Sunday, 19th May, before they face Togo in the last group game on Wednesday, May 22nd.

The two finalists at the competition will earn a place at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, the 20 Golden Eaglets players registered for WAFU B U17 Championship passed the MRI Tests conducted by CAF on Sunday.

The players are all eligible to play at the tournament.
