NPFL: Sporting Lagos Fined N1m For Fans Misconduct

Nigeria Premiere football League (NPFL) side, Sporting Lagos have been charged for breaching the Framework & Rules of the League in the course of their Matchday 9 encounter against Heartland FC of Owerri.

Played on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, the newly promoted side, narrowly escaped defeat after Equalizing 90+10 minutes against the Nazi Millionaires with the game ending 1-1.

According to the body (NPFL) the Lagos-based club breached the rules after some supporters of the club threw objects onto the pitch during the course of the game.

The NPFL subsequently fined Sporting Lagos the sum of N1 million for failing to provide adequate security and are directed to pay the fine within 14 days to avoid further sanctions.

Further more, the club was ordered to implement an effective matchday security arrangement and organise a re-orientation programme for their supporters.

With 12 point, Sporting occupy the eight position in the NPFL table.

They will play visitors to Sunshine Stars in one of the match day 10 fixtures on Sunday, November 26.
