NPFL23: Rangers A Work In Progress- Ilechukwu

Rangers International’s Coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu say, his team, the Flying Antelopes is still a work in progress.

The Coach who oversaw his first win for the Enugu based side in the Nigeria Football Premiere League (NPFL) since switching over from Plateau United Football Club of Jos, also identified his worries for the team.

Ilechukwu was frustrated over his players inability of converting their chances and scoring more goals against Doma United in their opening fixture of the 2023/2024 NPFL season on Saturday.

“The game has come and gone and I think it’s a very good game, we both created chances, but I think we had more of goals to score today but wasn’t able to do that, to me is work in progress“, the coach said.

“I am very worried as a coach because this is what they do every day, converting chances and scoring goals, but today they didn’t”.

“Maybe they were under pressure, i feel maybe they should be given more confidence that they can do it and keep on with the training section the same way, It was a very sad day for me because it could have been three goals up in today’s game but they were not able to do that”, He added.

On Doma United, the Rangers Manager said, “they are a good team, a very technical side, the team have been good, but i and my team are very grateful to God for the three points because it is very important”.

Fidelis Ilechukwu before joining Rangers, had managed, MFM, Heartland and Plateau United.
