Rangers International Draw Heartland, Begins Two Weeks Camping In Awka

Ahead of it’s opening game of the 2023/2024 Nigeria premiere league season against Doma United, Rangers International continued its build-up with a friendly fixture against Oriental Rivals, Heartland F.C at the Awka City Stadium which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Midfield sensation, Joel Okoro, shot the Enugu side into the lead on the stroke of half-time after being feed sumptuously by a Chukwudi Nwaodu defense-splitting pass on 44 minutes but the ‘Naze Millionaires’ were soon back on level terms in the 53 minutes when Tunde Oyewole was left unmarked to stamp home a corner-kick.

Efforts by both sides to score more goals failed to materialize as the goal keepers on both sides, Emeka Onyia for Rangers and Chisom Chiaha for Heartland, made great saves to end the encounter on an even note.

Nevertheless, Players and officials of the flying Antelopes have begin a two-week close-camping exercise to adequately prepare for the coming season at the Anambra state capital, Awka, on Thursday.
