NPL2023: League Draw Holds August 17, As Resumption Date Fears Postponement

The draws for the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season have been scheduled for Thursday, August 17.

As announced on Monday, it has also been confirmed that, the transfer window closes September 1.

While there are strong indications that the league commencement might have a later date, the league season as announced earlier, is to kick off in 12 days, Saturday, August 26.

Before now, Gbenga Elegbeleye was appointed as the NPL chairman by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja on July 20 ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Recall that, Elegbeleye was the chairman, Interim Management Committee, (IMC) which oversee the Abridged League season of 2022/2023.

Defending champions of the Nigeria Premier League, Enyimba International of Aba, is expected to face stiff hurdle as other teams are bent on depriving them of a record tenth tittle.
