Ekweremadu Jr Appointed New Commissioner Of Sports In Enugu State; Assures Of His Readiness To Work

The governor of Enugu state, Peter Mba has confirmed the appointed of, Barr. Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu Jnr, first son of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, as the state Commissioner of Sports.

This follows Fridays assignment of portfolios to the twenty commissioners cleared by the State House of Assembly to serve in the State Executive Council.

Speaking after his confirmation, Llyod thanked Governor Mba for identifying him to serve, declaring his readiness to work.

“I don’t have much to say but to assure you that I will do my best”.

“I want to thank specially the Executive Governor of Enugu State,His Excellency, Barrister Peter Mbah for this opportunity, it is a rare one and I am honoured”, he added.

The young legal practicioner takes over from Manfred Nzekwe who served as the sports commissioner under the Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi administration.

Lloyd is expected to evolve ways of turning around the fortunes of Rangers International Football Club as well as revive the sporting nature Enugu state has been know for.
