Plateau United Will Be At the Top Again, We Have Started The Process- Coach Mangut

Ahead of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League, NPL season, the Coach of Plateau United, Mbwas Mangut has set a target for himself.

In an exclusive chat with, the newly appointed manager revealed that he and his back room staff have hit the ground running as there is not much time left before the new season kicks off.

The former Rangers assistant manager added that, there is a lot to be done to get the team ready when the league resumes.

“Plateau United is a team with a very high standard and we must consolidate and build on what we met on ground, to achieve our target”.

“We needed to kickstart our programme in earnest considering the timeframe between now and when the new season will kick off, and that is what we have done.

The Peace Boys finished fifth in the regular season (Abridged League), failing to make the Super Six playoffs in Lagos as Enyimba emerged champions.

The club was also eliminated from the Federation Cup at the semi-final stage by Rangers International.

But Coach Mangut insists he is confident of returning the team back to the top in the league.

“The club has a unique identity which has seen them reside at the top of the NPFL for some years now, and we do not envisage anything less”.

“We understand that last season’s finish was not as palatable as expected, but we will do all within our powers to return the club back to its glory days,” Mangut concluded.

Despite multiple rumors attaching the club former handler, Kennedy Boboye to be in line to succeed Ilechukwu, Mangut signed a two-year deal with an option for another year with the former NPL Champions.
