TRANSFER: Chidozie Awaziem Close To Joining Greek Club, Panathinaikos

Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem is on the verge of completing a move to Greek club, Panathinaikos.

Awaziem spent last season on loan at Croatian club, Hajduk Split from Portuguese club, Boavista.

The 26-year-old made 36 appearances for Hajduk Split with five goals and one assist to his name.

According to news from Greece, the defender is Panathinaikos’ top choice to reinforce their defence.

If he heads to Greece, the Nigerian who has two years remaining on his contract with Boavista, has the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

If the deals go through, Awaziem will rival against Super Eagles center-back and vice-captain, William Troost-Ekong, who finalized his transfer from English Championship Club Watford to PAOK Thessaloniki FC.
