Man City Beat Man United To Claim FA Cup Tittle, Seek Treble Against Inter Milan.

Ilkay Gundogan scored twice, including the fastest FA Cup final goal ever, as an inspired Manchester City beat neighbors, Manchester United for trophy two of a possible Treble.

United were second-best for much of the first half but they were given a way back into the game when Jack Grealish  was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box after a VAR review.

Bruno Fernandes then send Stefan Ortega the wrong way and rolled the ball home to put United on level terms after 33 minutes; it was the first goal City have conceded in the 2022-23 FA Cup campaign.

But, a second Gundogan volley, this time with his left foot, restored City’s advantage on 51 minutes, a goal much needed to win them their second trophy this season.

Special Gundogan after the win, “To win a final is always special, every trophy is special. This group deserves it. The second half especially was amazing. We are deservedly going to lift another trophy.

On the goal: “We know how we play and how we want to do the kick-off, we aimed for that, for Erling and then to attack quick. For the first time this season, we’ve scored. The ball was placed amazingly for me and I had to hit it. It was quite a good strike and it went in. Amazing.

On his future: “To be honest, I don’t need these days to feel appreciated and special in this club. That’s why I’ve been here seven years, with the up and downs we’ve had so far. Nothing is decided yet.”

Pep Guardiola’s side can secure the Treble next Saturday in Istanbul, when they face Inter Milan in the Champions League final
