FEDERATIONS CUP: Rangers And Bendel Insurance Rekindle Rivalry As Both Teams Book FA Cup Final Ticket

Rangers International will now face Bendel Insurance in this year’s Federations cup grand finale after the two team booked their place in the finals of the oldest cup competition in Nigeria.

The Flying Antelopes cemented their place in the final after defeating fellow NPFL side Plateau United in one of the semifinals played in Ijebu Ode on Thursday evening.

With what will be there third meeting in the competition final, Both Rangers and Bendel Insurance will renew their rivalry in what could be a repeat of the 1978 and 1981 FA Cup final when they clash in this year’s finals.

While Insurance were champions in the 1978 encounter triumphing 3-0 against Rangers, the Flying Antelopes revenged three years later with a two-nil victory.

Meanwhile, the Benin Arsenal was unbeaten in the abridged Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL qualifying them for the super six which begins on Saturday in Lagos.

The 2023 Federation Cup final will hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State and the winner will pick the second ticket to represent Nigeria at the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup.
